Who gets Channel 4? Plus YouTube’s TV Share Climbs
Our shortlist inside, plus MSNOW, ProSieben’s new center of gravity, BARB’s 200-channel cut and more.

We are back for Season 2! Same hair, nice summer tans (not for long) and a whole lot of hot takes about the Media & Entertainment industry.
Today and I discuss:
→ Nepo babies set the tone. MSNOW and the Versant spinout, and Paramount’s “kill list.” Owners and labels change. Strategy still needs proof.
→ MFE tightens its grip on ProSiebenSat.1 after PPF exits, edging closer to its Pan-European status.
→ YouTube stretches its TV lead in the US and edges closer and closer to my January prediction of where they’ll be by year end.
→ BARB starts tracking 200 YouTube channels on TV in the UK. TV only, no Shorts, only new uploads since April. A lot of holes in this new measurement report but can’t blame BARB for trying. Listen in to see who leads, where Mr Beast lands and more.
→ Roku’s 3 dollar mini SVOD inside The Roku Channel. What’s the play here?
→ Last but not least, our question of the week: who’s getting the Channel 4 CEO seat? Check out our shortlist of possible contenders (spoiler: folks you know!).
COMING UP NEXT: Streaming Made Easy Live lands in Amsterdam on September 11 (full program and attendees here). At IBC 2025, we will record two live episodes, on September 13th, one with the fantastic Whale TV team and another one with a CTO roundtable with ITV and SVT.
