Webedia just became the first French player to obtain a deduplicated global audience measurement across every screen and platform. In December 2024, 350M monthly unique visitors globally turned up across its brands, from Allociné to Tudo Gostoso, on its websites & apps and on YouTube.

DAZN threw down $1 billion for global rights to the FIFA Club World Cup, then streamed it free in nearly every market except China and Russia. They sub-licensed to 100 countries, 45% of them with free-to-air partners. Say what: Streaming is taking over the world? Not according to that awesome Ampere Analysis map.

📺 At Long Last
I’ve been banging the drum about European Telcos investing in FAST but I must admit it’s been slower than I care for.
This week, Vodafone Germany rolled out 7 FAST channels on GigaTV, covering action sports, classic films, comedy, and green docs. Thanks to Amagi’s backend, they drop straight into the EPG, no extra app needed. Viewers can now stream GigaTV live in HD on the web with their login, no fresh install required. More channels are coming. GigaTV is shaping up to be the hub for everything live, on-demand and streaming. I’ve been waiting for this.

Netflix x TF1, RTL x Sky, France tv x Amazon (my next Tuesday deep dive) and now CMA Media (part of the French global shipping & logistics giant CMA CGM) is in exclusive talks to buy Brut., the digital-native news giant with 500M monthly viewers.

This deal would make CMA Media the first heavyweight in France to truly scale a social-first news brand worldwide, another bold counterpunch from Europe’s legacy media to stay relevant.
