Three signals the industry can’t ignore
Alphabet passes Apple, HBO Max makes its long-awaited European move and what Netflix’s numbers really say.
We got two episodes for you today but a quick email because Eurostar wifi simply s.
Evan Shapiro and I recorded an episode of The Media Odyssey Podcast last week to cover two big pieces of industry news:
On January 7, Alphabet’s market capitalization overtook Apple’s valuation for the first time this decade.
HBO Max finally launching in Germany and Italy (and another 6 markets). I’m sure local fans binged season 1 of The Pitt just in time for season 2.
And we then went live last night, had technical issues (of course 😅), to cover Netflix earnings’ call. We loved it so hope those who joined us live did too. We were able to take questions live so do consider joining us live next week for the Apple/Meta earnings (Jan. 30th at 4pm CET; 10am EST; 7am PST).
Both episodes are available here: APPLE PODCASTS | SPOTIFY | YOUTUBE. On YouTube, check out the live tab for the live episode.
❓Survey time
As we start year 2 of the pod, we’d love to hear from you! What topics do you want more of? Less of? What’s working? What’s missing? This is your chance to tell us directly.
To fill out the survey, head over here.
That’s it for today but before you go:
