There is actually plenty happening with local authorities. InstaBlock initiative in UAE from the MOET (https://www.moet.gov.ae/en/-/ministry-of-economy-announces-outcomes-of-the-implementation-of-new-mechanism-for-ip-rights-protection-of-creative-works-in-digital-space). SAIP authority in KSA that have been very supportive in taking action against pirate websites and IPTV services (https://saudigazette.com.sa/article/650279). Raids against resellers in Dubai by JioHotstar (https://www.storyboard18.com/how-it-works/breaking-major-iptv-piracy-ring-busted-in-dubai-following-disney-star-complaint-42678.htm)

Great article Marion. Particularly relevant to the Middle East as well. Many of the counties in this region do not take as much action as they could to protect the media industry from piracy. It would be good for you to pick this up with William Page at 1001. He leads a local consortium with some influential leaders within the streaming sector on this topic.
